We are in the States!

September 19th, 2014

We have been in the US for about 4 months now, but we have been in “hiding” for most of that time.  We arrived tired and near burnout, so this time of rest and relaxation has been good!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my gardening, even if I did get a bit carried away at planting time!  The Lord sent abundant rain, cool weather, and what a harvest!  I laughingly say I have had tried to do enough gardening in one year to last me another 4 year term, and I believe I’ve succeeded!

Elwyn has been able to help his parents with lawn care, etc, help me with my garden, and even pick up an odd job here and there.

We praise the Lord he provided a great summer job for Andrew, who is now at Calvary Bible College, and lawn jobs that have kept Nate busy all summer as well.  Susanna has even picked up an odd job here and there to start her spending fund.

But now, we must get to work!  The purpose of home assignment (or furlough as it used to be called), does include rest and relaxation, taking care of family, etc, but an essential part is also sharing with our supporters what God has been doing in Brasil through Harvest Radio, and encouraging others to join our support team by praying, giving, and/or going.

You will see on our tentative schedule that we have a number of visits and Churches scheduled for the next few months, and we are excited about this!  Please pray with us that we will be effective communicators of what the Lord is doing as well as that we will have boldness in challenging others to join the work of world missions!
