Lists

April 3rd, 2014
We have started a new “tradition” in our home lately.   Every morning at breakfast our conversation is something like this:

“OK, what can I cross off the list, Elwyn?”

“Andrew, your turn….” etc.

Each person has a list of things that must get done in the next 40 days.  Our hope is that this morning ritual will encourage each other, rather than overwhelm (which is what we feel about right now).

What is in 40 days?  The beginning of our trip to the US.  Lord willing we will be arriving in Oklahoma on May 16 and plan to make our home in Hesston, KS, for a year.

Elwyn’s list is the longest.  In spite of careful planning, we recently had 2 employees of Harvest Radio express their desire to move on, so he has several positions to fill ASAP.  We thought we had things pretty well in place so we could avoid this last-minute change, but the Lord obviously thought better.  Today he is interviewing a possible announcer several hour’s drive away.  Please pray for wisdom for Elwyn.

Andrew’s list is nearly as long.  I think he just planned too much for his year-long internship/maintenance at Harvest Radio.  Part of it is because the Lord provided far and above what we thought or imagined financially for these projects!  Thanks to those who have so graciously given!    Andrew has been accepted at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City to start this fall, so his list includes some serious sorting of his stuff for a permanent move.  Please pray for him as this is a huge life change for him.

Nathan’s list suddenly got larger, as his Dad begged the schoolteacher (me) to forgive some of his schoolwork and divert his help to the station.  He is mainly working on updating the computers, at the station, Unshackled, and here at home.  Susanna, likewise, is helping me here at home.  Please pray for both of them as they adjust to life in the US.

We praise the Lord for providing a family who plans to live in our house while we are gone.  We are still waiting for them to let us know how much of our furniture they want to use, but everything else must be packed up & stored in 1 or 2 bedrooms.  That is my job.  🙂  Let the sorting begin!  We also praise the Lord for a house and a couple of cars for our time in the US.

See you soon!
